Nice pictures, but is it really the same now also...?? as all the monuments are being distroyed day by day, why no care is being taken for these monuments...?? I m Indian But i m working outside india and this is the question of most of the foreigners which i m unable to answer..

Text has not yet been added. The photo of Ellora is specifically of famous 'Kailasnath Temple'at Ellora.
Ellora is a village 30 k.ms away from Aurangabad city. Aurangabad is near to Pune(one-night journey by train).Ajantha caves are 100 K.ms away from Aurangabad.Aurangabad itself has about 9 caves in its outskirts.
The Kailasnath temple shown here( 4th photo from the top) is a wonderful rock-cut temple made in 9th century.It took 90 years to complete this cave-temple.A karnataka King Krishna the second, got this cave temple carved.He belonged to Rashtrakoota dynasty. It is a double storied cave temple,with many exquisite sculptures, pillars etc.90,000 cubic feet of stone was chiseled out while carving this temple. Perhaps ,no place in the world has such a fine, meticulously carved out cave temple exists.
Ajantha has 24 caves,whereas, Ellora has 37 caves. Many caves in Ajanhta are incomplete, or bare halls. But in Ellora,most of them are carved.
